one: lit this night on fire

A report on the first of the concerts I'm seeing Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Saw Another Cynthia, Tiger City, and VHS Or Beta at the Doug Fir. I know the Doug Fir is a great place, but I always forget just how great until I'm actually there. Another Cynthia was wonderful. They're a local band. I first saw lead singer Ian Mackintosh perform in Roseburg about 10 years ago. I'm glad he's now part a band that has had some success. They're getting lots of air play on 94.7 FM and have even been heard on MTV's Road Rules. Tiger City was really fun too. The singer had an unexpected falsetto which garnered some giggles at first, but they turned out to be a really good dance band. I first heard of VHS Or Beta while I was in Kentucky, which is where they are from. Ironically, I haven't gotten to see them perform until now in my own home state.

Jacob, one of my high school friends, was there. He was there with a few others and I didn't know what to say...so I said nothing. But I saw him.

For the first time in my life, I danced like no one was watching. You know what? That's really good exercise!...Onward to Gooferman at Devil's Point!
