sunshine daze

I enjoyed hanging out again with optometry peeps during the last day of the meeting. I walked around the exhibition hall a lot because there was a big gap in my schedule. The Presidential Celebration is the meeting's ceremonial conclusion. Jay Leno performed for about an hour. His stage act is a gazillion times better than his television monologues, which are pretty good themselves.

After the Presidential Celebration, I went across the street to meet Jon and see a movie with some of his friends. We saw Wanted. It was weird and ridiculous. People laughed a lot. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny or not. I guess the director is Russian and I'm not used to his style.

I spent the next day hanging out with Jon. We started the morning looking for lunch in Queen Anne. Many businesses were closed or didn't open until later because it was Sunday. We ended up stopping by a record store and coffee shop before going to a pub for fish & chips. The soccer game was on and we enjoyed watching that and bowling on a second television (Spain won the soccer game). I also got to see the house from The Last Mimzy. Later, we went to the Frye Museum, which is a bargain (free) and the art was great. We did a ton of walking (lots of hills in Seattle), so we drove back to Jon's house to chill for a while.

When all was chilled, we took the bus to Olympic Sculpture Park. It's a really nice park with, um...sculptures. We tried to visit a doughnut shop, but they were closed. So we hopped on the bus and went back to Jon's place for burritos.
