It's getting so that I can't keep my baseball experiences straight, so here are some high points and observations. I attended games June 25, 27, and 28 at Chase Field as the Arizona Diamondbacks faced the Los Angeles Dodgers.
- The Mets can keep Lo Duca. We've got Russell Martin.
- Better seats are more expensive.
- A ball traveling 350 feet through the air and bouncing off your hand doesn't hurt as much as you'd think.
- The Dodgers are capable of getting 9 hits and scoring 0 runs or getting 9 hits and scoring 9 runs.
- Joe Beimel uses Refresh Tears. I use Refresh Tears. Coincidence? I think so.
- Joe Beimel's first name is Joseph. My first name is Joseph. Coincidence? Yes.
- They don't open the roof on Chase Field for day games when it's 107 degrees outside.
- Randy Johnson looks smaller in person than I thought he would.
- Randy Johnson would have looked taller if I hadn't been 300 feet away from him.
You'd think I'd be able to hold the camera a little straighter.
Great view from the third baseline.
Russel Martin about 1 second before spanking a two run triple. Martin for MVP!
The seats begin to empty as the game draws to a close, the Dodgers victorious!
Final score: Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 1
My view from the left field bleachers. Nice view into the Diamondbacks' bullpen (out of frame, on my right).
Even in a tiny, blurry photo you can tell which one is Randy Johnson. He's 6'10".
View from the right field bleachers. The stands begin to empty and it begins to look like Dodger Stadium again. There was a concentration of Dodgers fans in these seats because it was by the Dodgers bullpen.
