It's hot in here...in more than one way

I had a relatively busy weekend. I picked up Andrew and Jeff, the interns from Waterloo, at 9:00 and we headed to Jennifer's (intern from Illinois College of Optometry) place. We enjoyed some chips, salsa, drinks, and chitchat with Jennifer and her house mates Albert and Carla, also optometry students.

Albert played designated driver. We got to Scottsdale around midnight and made Pussycat Lounge our first stop. The guy in front letting people in made it sound like we might have to wait a while to get in unless we get a table. We agreed to get a table. Then we found out a table would cost $300! We scrapped the table and Jennifer worked her charm on the guy. We were inside in no time. It was kinda small, but nice. Good music and lots of dancing but no trouble stepping aside for a breather or drunken conversation (or both). Sometime later, we walked down the street to Axis/Radius, a much larger club (actually, a combination of two clubs) with a much larger cover ($10). I squeezed every penny out of my ten spot as we didn't leave until the music stopped around 2:00a.

We walked back to the Lamborghini (minivan), some straighter than others, and decided to get a burger from Sonic. They were closed so we went to another leading burger joint. I didn't order anything...it was delicious. We brought the food back to Jennifer's place. Some complained about the small portions of curly fries. I returned Andrew and Jeff to their apartment and that ended the night. I got to bed as the sun was rising, just before 5:00a.

I went to a baseball game Saturday evening. Randy Johnson bobblehead night? How could I resist? And Chase Field is a fantastic venue.

The seat was rotten, though. I thought having an isle seat in the front row of my section would be nice. It turned out to be right by the stairs and there was a constant stream of people between the batter and me. And when there was no one walking the stairs, I could just barely see the batter between a barrier, handrail, and wire supporting the backstop. I wish I brought my camera just to illustrate my rotten view. It's ok, though. The Red Sox won (which isn't as exciting as the Diamondbacks losing, really) and I got a bobblehead.

Arizona Fact #328: The more people in a building, the cooler it is.
